he said that most standard pain relief says not to take if currently on warfarin. Any ideas?

Fioricet helps for migraines. I take two tablets everyday. It’s best to get them filled generic at Walmart. They give you thick dull blue colored pills. Walgreen’s give you different fioricet that doesn’t work as well.

Is taking vicodin before a test unethical?

My boyfriend is planning to take vicodin to help him focus on an important entrance exam for grad school.
I’ve told him I don’t think it’s right and unfair, but he’s convinced it’s as innocent as drinking coffee.

Is he addicted to vicodin? If not, that is a really,really stupid thing to do. It is a depressant. You may feel good, but you brain does not work as well. Certainly not ” innocent” , and a dangerous practice to start.

I took 40mg of adderall 3 hours ago and want to take 300mg of Vicodin. How long should I wait?

If the adderall is long-acting you can take it now. if it is short acting it is good to wait a few hours after to take a pain meciation. One drug increases your heart rate and the other can decrease your heart rate.If you have never taken vicodin before it is good to wait till other medication is out of your system,in case of an allergic reaction.
Did the doctor know you were on the adderall when he ordered the pain medicine? Also you can contact your local pharmacist and ask him. I have taken meds for ADHD and pain at the same time and it was fine . As long as you have no reactions to either one (allergic reactions)it is o.k.

I’m a nurse. I would talk to the doctor about it. Your’e not far along as many people. You can simply chose not to take them. Most people take them for a very long time and later realize they have a problem. I think you are fine. It took you only two weeks and you realized, hey this could be a problem. My advice is to discontinue the use of it . You will later noticed that you caught the problem right before the addiction happened. Your’e fine, after all this isn’t what you wnat to do and your’e not in denial, that’s great. Be strong during this time, you can do it, I know you can.

Is vicodin withdraw possible after just a week of taking it?

I have been on vicodin for surgery for about a week and a half I’ve been taking the correct dose and about 4 to 5 pills a day I’m stopping tomorow since the pain is pretty much gone. Will I have withdraw? If so for how long and how bad?

As long as you’ve been taking the correct doses you shouldn’t experience any issues after only 5 days use.

How long does it take for Vicodin to leave your system?

Am looking for a job and had an accident two weeks ago. I was prescibed Vicodin for pain and am taking very little as I don’t want it to show up on pre-employment screening. I understand that it is acceptable if you are prescribed the med, I’m just curious about how long it stays in your system. Is it like nicotine, where it takes two weeks to be Nic free?

Opiates stay in your system for 1-3 days, sometime 5 if you have a slow metabolism. But if you are prescribed vicodin and your employer knows this, then you don’t have anything to worry about.

What is the best pain medication if you are sensitive to Vicodin?

I am having knee surgery (ACL ) and I am worried about taking pain meds. I took Vicodin for 3 days once for sciatica, and when I stopped, I had the shakes and threw up for 6 hours. I realize it may be coincidence but I am concerned nonetheless. Should I ask my surgeon for something different?

Just tell your surgeon about your experience, and also let the admitting RN know so it can be put on your chart and a warning ID braclet placed on your wrist.
Beyond that, let those who knw the specifics of your case recommend the treatment.
Just as a side note: Sweetpea is mistaken, tramadol (Ultram) is a synthetic opioid and is a narcotic.

I need to know how many mg of Ibuprofen is equivalent to taking one pill of Vicodin. Someone please tell me.

Poppy’s right. Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and Vicodin (no matter what the proportion, Vicodin/Lortab/Lorcet/Norco are all combinations of the same two drugs – hydrocodone bitartrate with acetaminophen) contains hydrocodone, which is indeed a synthetic codeine analogue. Milligram-for-milligram, hydrocodone is roughly six times “stronger” than codeine. That means that one Vicodin tablet (hydrocodone 5mg / acetaminophen 500mg) has approximately the same analgesic potency as one Tylenol #3 tablet (codeine 30mg / acetaminophen 300mg).
So there’s no equivalent dose of Ibuprofen to get the same effect as Vicodin.

I have been taking vicodin for severe lower back pain for about 1 year. I need to know how to minimize withdrawl from. Dr denied refill even though I still have pain.

He should have weined you off slowly instead of cold turkey.You’re gonna feel like you have a severe case of the flu.Maybe you need to go back and plea with him to wein you off slowly.Ive went thru withdrawals and it’s a nightmare.If you must I’d go to another doctor or the emergency room.You get what I’m saying.
