How long does it usually take for a person to get addicted to vicodin?

I have been taking vicodin for two weeks now and I think I may be addicted to it. What can I do to help myself and how can my doctor help me? serious answers only please. Thank You!

I’m a nurse. I would talk to the doctor about it. Your’e not far along as many people. You can simply chose not to take them. Most people take them for a very long time and later realize they have a problem. I think you are fine. It took you only two weeks and you realized, hey this could be a problem. My advice is to discontinue the use of it . You will later noticed that you caught the problem right before the addiction happened. Your’e fine, after all this isn’t what you wnat to do and your’e not in denial, that’s great. Be strong during this time, you can do it, I know you can.

What medications can I take to ease the symptoms of vicodin withdrawal?

I am addicted to vicodin and am trying to get off of it. I haven’t had any pills for two days, but the withdrawals are very hard on me. Is there anything that I can take that will relieve them? Serious answers only please. Thank you:)

Chosen Answer:

clonidine
antidepressants
benzodiazepines (xanax, valium, etc)
cannabis

that is a bad addiction.. i have been there.. its bad mainly because those pills have a TON of tylenol in them and if your addicted you are consuming wayy to much tylenol and that is very very bad for you. never consume more than 4 grams tylenol(acetametephen) per day or you are risking liver damage.

if you went to a doctor he would give you clonidine probably…
i would use that and throw on a nicotine patch for good measure.

you should be able to get thru it… those pills dont have that much drug in them.

How safe is it to be taking vicodin throughout my pregnancy?

I have serious back problems and have been taking vicodin for over 4 years now. I just yesterday found out that I’m pregnant. I cannot stop pain meds as I’m unable to function without them(because of the pain). I know that breatfeeding is out of the question, but how dangerous is it to my unborn child?

Chosen Answer:

This is probably something you’ll have to discuss with your OBGYN, but I’m assuming it is not very good for the baby.
